Read this quote from Commissioner of the NFL Roger Goodell -
GOODELL: "I respect and admire our players for what they don't on the
field, but also for what they do off the field. They're leaders.
They're thoughtful. And they want to make a difference in their
communities and they feel passionately about this subject. We, as the
league, obviously embrace this also, would be incredibly supportive of
this, and not just the point of tolerance but to the point of
acceptance. I think you're hearing that from our players, and I'm proud
of them for that."
He was answering the following questions. "A couple different issues around the league right now. One that
certainly has a lot of attention, several of your players have come out
in support of gay marriage, lot of questions about what would happen if
an NFL player were to come out as gay and the expectation perhaps that
would happen soon. Generally speaking,
Mr. Commissioner, how do you feel about NFL players taking stands on
potentially divisive political issues?"
If you know anything about Tebow and how he was denegraded for being a Christain. Now read Goodell answer with Tebow in mind. Did that ever happen to Tebow? No. Not ever!
Then in the news Jason Collins, 34 years old center in the NBA has come out and said. "I'm black. And I'm gay." Obama called the guy an hour later and said he was impressed with his courage to come out. Did Obama call Tebow for having the courage to stand up for being a Christain?
Rush Limbaugh commented - "Remember, now, Tebow's gone.
Jets released him, April 15th he was waved bye-bye. And the New York
media is ecstatic, 'cause all that mumbo jumbo about Jesus is no longer
gonna pollute the Jets locker room. And this is the commissioner[Goodell] on
tolerance and acceptance in the NFL."
What tolerance - What acceptance!!???

Sequestor Armageddon? What a lie!
This article states some very good points. "Getting Wise to Government Lies" Written by Michael Reagan
Take President Obama and his Cabinet of Liars, please.
We all know what dirty tricks they played to try and stop the sequester's automatic budget cuts from happening.
They spent weeks trying to frighten the America people into believing the country would collapse into chaos and suffering if the federal government's sequester-forced spending cuts went into effect.
The campaigner in chief and his chorus of toadies did everything they could to make sure the puny spending cuts -- which would have merely taken the federal budget back to its 2012 level -- would cause the most pain to the most people.
Supposedly the cuts were going to decimate the ranks of our local police forces and firefighters, throw hundreds of teachers into the streets, create long lines at airports and maybe even leave the United States vulnerable to a military invasion by Greece.
Of course, most of Big Media played right along with Obama's dirty political game. Like the dupes they are, they publicized every sequester scare-story like it was going to mean the end of America as we know it.
(Too bad the MSN don't devote the same level of hysteria to covering some of our real problems, like Obama's runaway federal spending and our unpayable future debt load.)
In case you haven't noticed by now, Armageddon didn't happen. The sequester came and the sun is still coming up. Planes aren't falling from the heavens. And I haven't had to use my guns to defend my home against a single robber or terrorist....

Chris Matthews should appologize
Chris Matthews on the day of the Boston Bombings: "Domestic Terrorists...Tend to be on the Far Right." It would be nice if Chris Matthews would keep his commentary to himself until the facts are out. Now that we know that the perpetrators were not on the far right (one report says that the younger brother claimed he was Muslim and have been living in the US) , do you think Chris Matthews will apologize for condemning the far right? I don't think so. He has to get his little dig in at the beginning to cause hate on the left. It is time to stop blaming the right for everything that goes wrong.
On the broadcast of “Inside Washington,” Washington Post
columnist Charles Krauthammer said the two gay marriage cases currently
before the Supreme Court could lead to an all-out assault on religion in
the United States.
“It gets really sticky,” Krauthammer said. “If the court were to decide that to deny same-sex marriage is unconstitutional, then you got Georgetown University – a Jesuit university [that offers] married student housing. It’s a Catholic University. So [when] it says it’s only going to allow heterosexuals, it will get sued. This will become an assault on religion. And the religions, which I think are sincere in their beliefs, are going to be under assault and under attack.”
When NPR’s Nina Totenberg pointed out that same-sex marriage is already legal in the District of Columbia, where Georgetown is located, Krauthammer said the issue is truly national.
“It will be sued everywhere in the country if it’s declared to be a constitutional right, because it would imply who opposes it does it only out of bigotry [and] for no other reason,” Krauthammer added.

Coexist
I was driving around the other day and saw this bumper sticker. I thought it was pretty clever. It would be nice to be able to coexist with one another but there is too much unrest in the world that I don't think it will ever happen.

Quoate of the day
Rush Limbaugh, - The captured illegal said to the Border Patrol agent, "I don't care, go
ahead and capture me. Obama is gonna let me go." It's reminiscent of
2009 after Obama was inaugurated and they had all those town hall
meetings. "Don't worry, Obama is gonna fix my kitchen." Well, the
illegal arrivals crossing the border in Texas are not sweating it
because Obama is gonna let them go. -
Head Start should be on the chopping block
Head Start's sad and costly secret -- what Washington doesn't want you to know
‘Twas the Friday before Christmas, and while most Americans were enjoying time with family and friends, the bureaucrats at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) were stirring quietly about, preparing to release its long-overdue evaluation of the Head Start program.Head Start is an $8 billion per year federal preschool program, designed to improve the kindergarten readiness of low-income children. Since its inception in1965, taxpayers have spent more than $180 billion on the program.
But HHS’ latest Head Start Impact Study found taxpayers aren’t getting a good return on this “investment.” According to the congressionally-mandated report, Head Start has little to no impact on cognitive, social-emotional, health, or parenting practices of its participants. In fact, on a few measures, access to the program actually produced negative effects.
The HHS’ scientifically-rigorous study tracked 5,000 children who were randomly assigned to either a group receiving Head Start services or a group that did not participate in Head Start. It followed their progression from ages three or four through the end of third grade. The third-grade evaluation is a continuation to HHS’ first-grade study, which followed children through the end of first grade.
The first-grade evaluation found that any benefits the children may have accrued while in the Head Start program had dissipated by the time they reached first grade.
The study also revealed that Head Start failed to improve the literacy, math and language skills of the four year-old cohort and had a negative impact on the teacher-assessed math ability of the three-year-old cohort.
Based on this track record, HHS and Head Start devotees should not have been surprised to learn that the results of the third-grade evaluation were even worse. If the impacts of Head Start had all but disappeared by first grade, how could they suddenly reappear by the end of third grade?
Not only were the third-grade evaluation results poor, so was the department’s handling of the study. HHS sat on the results for four years. All that time, taxpayers were kept in the dark while their tax dollars continued to fund a completely ineffective program.
HHS had finished collecting all the data in 2008. Despite persistent prodding by members of Congress, the Department did not make the report (coyly dated October 2012) public until the Friday before Christmas. The timing couldn’t have been better if your goal is to get minimal attention.
Surely HHS was not eager to release yet another report showing that the feel-good Head Start program doesn’t work. But numbers don’t lie.
The third-grade follow-up study found that access to Head Start had no statistically measurable effects on cognitive ability, including numerous measures of reading, language and math ability.
The evaluation also examined the program’s effect on social-emotional development. It found that children in the 4-year-old group actually reported worse peer relations in third grade than their non-Head Start counterparts.
There was also no statistically significant effect on teacher-reported, social-emotional development of children. Alarmingly, there was a negative effect on the 4-year-old cohort. Teachers reported “strong evidence of an unfavorable impact on the incidence of children’s emotional symptoms.” Moreover, Head Start also failed to improve the parenting outcomes and child-health outcomes of participants.
The bottom line: Washington’s 48-year experiment with federal preschool has failed to deliver long-lasting, positive developments for its participants. Still, many in Congress argue that the way to fix this is to increase funding for Head Start.
And that’s exactly what they did in the Hurricane Sandy relief bill
Head Start fails children and costs taxpayers exorbitant amounts of money every year. And it’s just one of 69 federal preschool programs.
Head Start doesn’t need more money. It needs to be put on the chopping block. If Congress remains intent on funding preschool, it should at least refrain from relegating low-income children to underperforming Head Start centers. Far better to let these kids take their “share” of Head Start funding to a private preschool provider of their own choosing.

From an article by Joe Klien in the Time online magazine
Let me try to understand this: the key incentive for small businesses to support Obamacare was that they would be able to shop for the best deals in health care superstores — called exchanges. The Administration has had three years to set up these exchanges. It has failed to do so.
This is a really bad sign. There will be those who argue that it’s not the Administration’s fault. It’s the fault of the 33 states that have refused to set up their own exchanges. Nonsense. Where was the contingency planning? There certainly are models, after all — the federal government’s own health-benefits plan (FEHBP) operates markets that exist in all 50 states. So does Medicare Advantage. But now, the Obama Administration has announced that it won’t have the exchanges ready in time, that small businesses will be offered one choice for the time being — for a year, at least. No doubt, small-business owners will be skeptical of the Obama Administration’s belief in the efficacy of the market system to produce lower prices through competition. That was supposed to be the point of this plan.
Certainly, the Republicans who have stood in the way of these exchanges — their own idea, by the way, born in the conservative Heritage Foundation — deserve a great deal of “credit” for the debacle. But we are now seeing weekly examples of this Administration’s inability to govern. Just a few weeks ago, I reported on the failure of the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs to come up with a unified electronic health care records system. There has also been the studied inattention to the myriad ineffective job-training programs scattered through the bureaucracy. There have been the oblique and belated efforts to reform Head Start, a $7 billion program that a study conducted by its own bureaucracy — the Department of Health and Human Services — has found nearly worthless. The list is endless.
Yes, the President has faced a terrible economic crisis — and he has done well to limit the damage. He has also succeeded in avoiding disasters overseas. But, as a Democrat — as someone who believes in activist government — he has a vested interest in seeing that federal programs actually work efficiently. I don’t see much evidence that this is anywhere near the top of his priorities.
One thing is clear: Obamacare will fail if he doesn’t start paying more attention to the details of implementation, if he doesn’t start demanding action. And, in a larger sense, the notion of activist government will be in peril — despite the demographics flowing the Democrats’ way — if institutions like the VA and Obamacare don’t deliver the goods. Sooner or later, the Republican Party may come to understand that its best argument isn’t about tearing down the government we have, but making it run more efficiently.
Sooner or later, the Democrats may come to understand that making it run efficiently is the prerequisite for maintaining power.
Obamacare Incompetence
