Oklahoma tornado

This really struck me.  And how sad how our country has come to this.  This woman was interviewed after the horrible tornado that hit in Oklahoma.

Rhonda Crosswhite is a brave, sixth-grade teacher from Plaza Tower Elementary School in Moore, Oklahoma. While Crosswhite has spoken openly with media about her experience comforting students during the tornado, one of her admissions is particularly interesting. While speaking with a reporter from NBC, she said, “I did the teacher thing that we’re probably not supposed to do. I prayed — and I prayed out loud.”

Liberalism by Limbaugh

"This is liberalism on display. Benghazi, IRS, phone intercepts of AP, the massive debt, the economy, the lack of jobs, all of this is liberalism on display."

"This unfairness -- this mean-spiritedness, all of this extremism, all of this using the power of government against citizens -- is liberalism. Liberalism is not benevolent. It is not compassionate. It is not fair. It is not justice."

"Liberalism is a minority of the population of this country, but yet we're being governed by them."

"What you have is utter destruction. What you have is the assaults on the Constitution. What you have is declining liberty, declining freedom. You have a bigger and more intrusive government. This is what happens. This is liberalism."

"You know, if you want to say socialism, if you want to say statism, if you want to say big government, whatever, but it's liberalism on parade. This is what you get. You get economic failure. You get morass. You get malaise. You get a national funk. You have people afraid of their government. You have the IRS targeting people because they are political enemies. This is liberalism."

"Conservatives want to get government out of people's lives. Conservatives want people not to even have to think about government. It's kind of like an operating system in a computer. You just want it to work....Liberals want to run the operating system, and they want to use the operating system against you, or their political enemies. That's not at all what conservatives view government as."

The Spin

David Axelrod spins for Obama, inadvertently makes the case for smaller government.  He said this on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" concerning the IRS targeting conservatives group:

“If you look at the Inspector General’s report, apparently some folks down in the bureaucracy, and you know we have a large government, took it upon themselves to shorthand these applications for tax exempt status in a way that was, as I said, idiotic, and also dangerous because of the political implications ...Part of being president is there’s so much underneath you because the government is so vast,” he added. “You go through these [controversies] all because of this stuff that is impossible to know if you’re the president or working in the White House, and yet you’re responsible for it and it’s a difficult situation.”

I found this comment by a Jon:  "Guess what, Dave? Most Navy ships are "driven" by very junior personnel. If one of them screws up and runs aground or hits something, the Commanding Officer is still going to be relieved."

Obama blames Rush for gridlock

From an article by Greg Richter on Newsmax:

President Barack Obama told Hollywood donors he expected to get more cooperation from Republicans after beating them in November. What he didn't count on, he added, was the power of Rush Limbaugh.
The Atlantic Wire reports that Obama told a group at the Greenwich Village home of film executive Harvey Weinstein that Republicans in Congress fear what the conservative radio talk show host will say about them if they cooperate with Democrats.

"My thinking was when we beat them in 2012 that might break the fever, and it’s not quite broken yet," Obama said, according to a pool reporter.  "I genuinely believe there are Republicans out there who would like to work with us but they’re fearful of their base and they’re concerned about what Rush Limbaugh might say about them," Obama said. "And as a consequence we get the kind of gridlock that makes people cynical about government."  If Republicans refuse to go along with his agenda, Obama suggested he would work to defeat them in the 2014 midterm elections.  "If there are folks who are more interested in winning elections than they are thinking about the next generation, then I want to make sure there are consequences to that."

My comments - Isn't he the one more interested in winning elections?  Isn't he the one that is out there going to fund raisers for 2014 election instead of meeting with his staff and getting something done about the NO JOBS out there!

"What difference does it make?"

Ad produced by Crossroads gives some food for thought.

"Gay marriage is a lie"

From an article on The Blaze.  After reading this I don't know what I should think about the LGBT people!?

A 2012 speech by Masha Gessen, an author and outspoken activist for the LGBT community, is just now going viral and it includes a theory that many supporters of traditional marriage have speculated about for years: The push for gay marriage has less to do with the right to marry – it is about diminishing and eventually destroying the institution of marriage and redefining the “traditional family.”

The subject of gay marriage stirs powerful reactions on both sides of the argument. There are those who argue that legalizing it would diminish traditional marriage. And those advocating for gay marriage have long stated that the issue will not harm traditional marriage. Ms. Gessen’s comments on the subject seem to contradict the pro-gay-marriage party lines.
Gessen shared her views on the subject and very specifically stated;
  • “Gay marriage is a lie.”
  • “Fighting for gay marriage generally involves lying about what we’re going to do with marriage when we get there.”
  • “It’s a no-brainer that the institution of marriage should not exist.” (This statement is met with very loud applause.)
As mentioned above, Gessen also talked about redefining the traditional family. This may have something to do with the fact that she has “three children with five parents”:
“I don’t see why they (her children) shouldn’t have five parents legally. I don’t see why we should choose two of those parents and make them a sanctioned couple.

During the election the RNC actually cut an ad calling the Obama Administration out on Benghazi:

top priority

"In a list of 12 priorities for leaders in Washington, Americans ranked gun violence and immigration reform at the very bottom, as the 11th and 12th priorities, respectively. The Gallup survey released Tuesday reveals that two of the major issues dominating headlines and the attention of lawmakers are not the issues most Americans rank as a top or high priority. The top priorities for Americans, according to the survey are 'creating more jobs' and 'helping the economy grow,' both with 86 percent of Americans saying those issues should be the number one priorities."
