Dem Congresswoman Doesn’t Go PC When Asked Why Obama Admin. Refuses to Say the Words ‘Islamic Extremism’

The Obama administration’s refusal to acknowledge radical Islam is a “real problem” for the country, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) told Greta Van Susteren on Tuesday night.

When she was asked why the White House will not say “Islamic extremism,” Gabbard, an Iraq War veteran, replied:

“This is not just about words. It’s not about semantics. It’s really about having a real, true understanding of who our enemy is and how important that is, that we have to understand what their motivation is and what their ideology is — the radical Islamic ideology that is fueling them.”

Gabbard noted that Secretary of State John Kerry recently claimed that Islamic State and Al Qaeda terrorists were engaging in “criminal conduct rooted in alienation, poverty, thrill-seeking and other factors,” which she said is just wrong.

“If that’s really the cause, then the solution would be just to give them a trophy, give them a hug, give them a good-paying job, $10,000, and a skateboard so they can go and get their thrills and say, ‘OK, great, they are going to be happy and they won’t be fighting anymore.’ That’s not the case,” the congresswoman said.

“So, we’ve got to look at what their ideology is and how that’s fueling these tragic attacks that keep on occurring,” she added.

Gabbard acknowledged that her strong views on radical Islam stem from her military service as she’s seen the terrorist culture up close in Iraq. She also accused the Obama administration of failing to truly recognize the enemy the U.S. is fighting by ignoring the radical Islamic ideology.

“It’s a real problem because of a very simple reason, actually,” Gabbard said. “And that is something that I learned that is military 101, but something that’s easy for everyone to understand, and that is if you are at war, which we are, you have to know who your enemy is to defeat them.”

Planned Parenthood President: “We’re Proud” We Killed 327,000 Babies in Abortions

More than half a million pro-life people took to the streets of Washington D.C. to solemnly mark 42 years of legalized abortion since the infamous Roe v. Wade decision. But one top abortion activist celebrated the occasion.

While Planned Parenthood normally likes to play down its abortion business, abortion is the sine qua non component of what Planned Parenthood does. In fact,Planned Parenthood has killed more than 1 million babies in abortions in the last three years. That’s why its president’s admission that the abortion business is “proud” to do abortions is newsworthy.

As CNS News reports, “at an invitation-only press conference on Tuesday at the National Press Club, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards told hand-picked reporters that her organization takes pride in the millions of abortions done at its affiliated clinics around the United States”

As it reports, Richards said: “We proudly provide safe and legal abortion.”  [Basically they are proud to be killing babies]

The abortion giant Planned Parenthood recently released its 2013 annual report and the new numbers indicate it did more abortions than the year before — killing 327,653 babies in abortions while taking in millions in taxpayer funds. The report indicates Planned Parenthood did 327,653 abortions in 2013, an increase over the 327,166 abortions it did in 2012.

While it remains America’s biggest abortion corporation, the “nonprofit” continued to make money — bringing in $305.4 million last year and $305.3 million this year. Planned Parenthood continued to receive over a half-billion dollars in taxpayer money, as it took in $540 million in 2012 and $528 million in 2013.

Some other takeaways from Planned Parenthood’s own figures:

• In 2013, abortions made up 94% of Planned Parenthood’s pregnancy services.
• For every adoption referral, Planned Parenthood performed 174 abortions.
• While abortions rose, Planned Parenthood adoption referrals dropped 14% in one year, and prenatal care services dropped 4%.
• Planned Parenthood’s cancer prevention services are down 17% over one year, andcontraceptive services dropped by 4%.

• During fiscal year 2013-2014, Planned Parenthood received more than $528 million in taxpayer funding, or more than $1.4 million per day, in the form of government grants, contracts, and Medicaid reimbursements.
• Taxpayer funding accounts for 41% of Planned Parenthood’s overall revenue.
• Planned Parenthood reported more than $127 million in excess revenue, and more than $1.4 billion in net assets.

While it did more abortions, Planned Parenthood’s contraceptive business declined from 3,724.558 customers in 2012 to 3,577,348 customers in 2013.

Sharia Law is in Texas

An Islamic Tribunal using Sharia law in Texas has been confirmed by Breitbart Texas. The tribunal is operating as a non-profit organization in Dallas. One of the attorneys for the tribunal said participation and acceptance of the tribunal’s decisions are “voluntary.”....

Breitbart Texas asked what happens when there is a conflict between Sharia law and Texas law. El-badawi said most of the time, the laws are in agreement. When pushed further he admitted that, “we follow Sharia law.” However, he explained, “If the parties are not satisfied with the tribunal’s decision, they do not have to accept it and they can take the matter to Texas civil courts.” He did not say what the social ramifications of rejecting the “judge’s” decision would be.

The website for the Islamic Tribunal states, “The courts of the United States of America are costly and consist of ineffective lawyers.  Discontent with the legal system leads many Muslims in America to postpone justice in this world and opt for an audience on the Day of Judgment.”

It goes on to state, “It is with this issue that Muslims here in America are obligated to find a way to solve conflicts and disputes according to the principles of Islamic Law and its legal heritage of fairness and justice in a manner that is reasonable and cost effective.”

Black Sheriff to Al Sharpton: 'Go Back Into the Gutter'

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke has a message for the Rev. Al Sharpton: "Go back into the gutter."

During an interview on "Fox & Friends" Thursday morning, Clarke, who has been making a name for himself as a conservative commentator in recent months, was discussing the police shooting in Ferguson, Mo. from last summer.

When asked to comment on Sharpton's remarks in the wake of the shooting that left an 18-year-old black man dead, Clarke was blunt.

"I don't expect anything intelligent to come out of the mouth of Al Sharpton," Clarke said. 

"The next intelligent thing that comes out of his mouth will be the first. Al Sharpton ought to just shut up and go back into the gutter that he came from."

The segment was centered on Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, who will reportedly not face federal civil rights charges for shooting Brown. He was cleared of criminal charges in November.

Sharpton said over and over the shooting was race-based because Brown did not have a weapon on him. But the evidence, released by St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert P. McCulloch, showed Brown attacked Wilson several times, leaving the officer no choice but to use his gun.

Clarke also had harsh words for Attorney General Eric Holder, who traveled to Ferguson after riots and violent protests broke out in the St. Louis suburb. Holder vowed there would be a federal investigation into the shooting, even after the grand jury's decision in November that said Wilson acted in self defense — and even after Holder's options to charge the 28-year-old officer were limited. 

"Just take a look at the history here. This isn't the first time that he has done this sort of thing," Clarke said of Holder. "He sat up there for months just slandering law enforcement officers all across the nation. He's the one in Ferguson, Mo. that brought up the racial profiling term. That we were gonna end racial profiling once and for all. He invoked that into this thing, when that was never any part of what happened in the tragedy between officer Darren Wilson and Mike Brown.

"This is habit now for this Justice Department under Eric Holder, and I just think it's a shame."

Mitch McConnell Did Something Last Night to Senate Dems That Has Them Furious

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) late Thursday left Democrats angry and sputtering on the Senate floor, as he used his new power as majority leader to brush off several Democratic amendments in an effort to speed up work on a bill to approve the Keystone pipeline.

McConnell has so far made a point of allowing amendment votes, something Democrats barely allowed for the last few years. Earlier Thursday, McConnell boasted that the Senate had already held more amendment votes on the Keystone bill than Democrats allowed during all of 2014.

“We’ve actually reached a milestone here that I think’s noteworthy for the Senate,” McConnell said after the 15th amendment vote. “This is the way the Senate ought to work.”

But McConnell has also said the Senate can’t work on the Keystone bill forever, a warning that he wants to finish it up at some point in the near future.

Late Thursday night, McConnell said the new open process in the Senate led members of both parties to propose a new wave of amendments that he wanted to deal with immediately. He asked senators for an agreement to vote on a series of 12 amendments right then and there.

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) objected, and said Democrats would be ready to keep working on these amendments on Friday. But McConnell dismissed that and said the Senate should be ready to work on them now. With no agreement, he said his only choice was to start a series of votes to table, or kill, all Democratic amendments.

“Given the fact that they’re reluctant to vote on their own amendments… the only way to go forward is to table their amendments,” he said.

As Democrats protested, McConnell moved to table the first amendment, from Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.). Markey asked several times to have one minute to speak on his amendment — “Mr. President! Mr. President!” he yelled in an effort to stop the process — but McConnell objected, and the Senate voted to kill his amendment.

The same thing happened for other Democratic amendments from Sens. Tom Carper (Del.), Pat Leahy (Vt.), Jack Reed (R.I.) and Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.).

The process led to some sharp debate on Twitter, as Democrats argued that McConnell’s tactics showed he wasn’t serious about an open amendment process. Sen. Clarie McCaskill (D-Mo.) complained that McConnell was only interested in killing Democratic amendments, and wasn’t giving Democrats even one minute to speak about their proposals.

Adam Jentleson, spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), tweeted, “So much for open debate. McConnell just denied Markey chance to speak.”

But Dan Holler of Heritage Action, shot back, “How many amdts did Markey have voted on last year?”

Earlier in the debate, Durbin asked why the Senate couldn’t come back into session on Friday morning and handle all the amendments. McConnell has said the Senate would work Fridays, but later adjourned the Senate until Monday, further angering Democrats.

Senate Democrats accused McConnell of breaking his promise to work on Fridays so that Senate Republicans could attend a Friday meeting in California hosted by Charles and David Koch, big contributors to the Republican Party.

Sen. Jim Inhofe Outfoxes Dems on Climate Change in Keystone Vote

Republicans on Wednesday agreed that climate change is not a hoax. Sort of.

In what The Washington Post characterizes as a "nifty, if insincere, bit of politics," Republicans successfully parsed language in an amendment to the Senate’s Keystone XL pipeline bill that stated climate change "is real and not a hoax."

Democrats had been trying to force Republicans to state, on the record, their positions on human contributions to climate change.

In an act of chicanery, Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe, who authored a book on the subject entitled "The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future," argued in favor of the amendment, stating climate change is not a hoax. He gave his reasoning in a speech on the Senate floor.
"Climate is changing, and climate has always changed, and always will, there's archaeological evidence of that, there's biblical evidence of that, there's historic evidence of that, it will always change," Inhofe said. "The hoax is that there are some people that are so arrogant to think that they are so powerful that they can change climate. Man can't change climate."

The hoax, according to Inhofe, was the idea that man was responsible for global warming.Just before the vote, Inhofe sent a cryptic message on Twitter alluding to something in the works.

Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island had attached the "hoax" language to the Keystone bill. It was expected to fail, but Republicans successfully altered the wording so that they could vote for the bill while continuing to argue that climate change was not man-made.

"With Inhofe's re-framing the question, the Democrats, trying to engineer a gotcha moment, ended up empty-handed on the vote, with neither the satisfaction of nailing down opposition to scientific consensus and without a point of leverage for future discussions of addressing the warming planet," according to Post writer Philip Bump.

Politico reports that a GOP Senate aide needled Democrats following the vote, questioning why Democrats were wasting their time trying to "embarrass" Republicans on climate change instead of "offering substantive proposals" on carbon tax or cap-and-trade emissions legislation. "Democrats are stuck in messaging mode," the aide said.

Duke University reverses decision, will not allow Muslim call to prayer at its chapel

In the face of mounting controversy, Duke University reversed itself Thursday afternoon and announced it will not allow a Muslim call to prayer from its iconic chapel Friday.

The Durham university had said earlier in the week it would permit a weekly, three-minute chant by members of the Duke Muslim Students Association to be “moderately amplified” via speakers in the Duke Chapel’s bell tower.

That decision was met with growing anger in some corners of social media and elsewhere. Evangelist Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Charlotte-based Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, denounced the move Wednesday and called for people to stop funding Duke until it reversed its decision.

“What began as something that was meant to be unifying was turning into something that was the opposite,” said Michael Schoenfeld, vice president for public affairs and government relations. “It was clear we needed to reconsider.”

A Duke administrator had earlier touted the move as a way to promote religious inclusiveness at the school. But the university received hundreds of calls and emails, “many of which were quite vitriolic,” Schoenfeld said. “The level of vitriol in the responses was unlike any other controversy we have seen here in quite some time.”

There also were security concerns, Schoenfeld added.

Muslim community members will instead gather on the quadrangle outside the chapel and do the call to prayer, called the “adhan,” before moving to their regular location in the chapel basement for prayers. They have met there for the past several years.

More than 700 of Duke’s 14,850 students identify themselves as Muslim, according to the university.

‘Not a religion of peace’

Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, took to Facebook to lace into Duke’s initial decision.

“As Christianity is being excluded from the public square and followers of Islam are raping, butchering, and beheading Christians, Jews, and anyone who doesn’t submit to their Sharia Islamic law, Duke is promoting this in the name of religious pluralism,” Graham wrote on Facebook.

In an interview Thursday before the reversal, Graham told The Charlotte Observer that Duke should not allow the chapel to be used for the call to prayer. “It’s wrong because it’s a different god,” he said. “Using the bell tower, that signifies worship of Jesus Christ. Using (it) as a minaret is wrong.”

Graham did say Muslim students should be allowed to worship on campus. “Let Duke donate the land and let Saudi Arabia build a mosque for them.”

And referencing the recent terrorist attacks in France, Graham added, “Islam is not a religion of peace.”

Schoenfeld declined to comment on criticism by Graham or others.

Late Thursday afternoon, Graham applauded Duke’s reversal in a Facebook post. “They made the right decision!” he stated.

Osama Idlibi, president of the Muslim American Society of Charlotte, decried Graham’s earlier statements and called him “an Islamophobe.”

Idlibi said it was unfortunate that Duke had changed its plans.

“I don’t think it accomplishes the religious pluralism that they want to promote at the university,” he said.

International headlines

Duke’s initial announcement, and Graham’s reaction, quickly made international news, with stories on such sites as CNN, Breitbart.com, The Huffington Post and a British website, the Daily Mail.

Graham’s initial Facebook post has been shared more than 57,000 times and has more than 70,000 “likes.”

Twitter has seen people praise and pillory Duke before the latest announcement.

One person tweeted, “This #Duke alum hopes current Duke students visibly refuse to submit to Islam tomorrow at 1 p.m.” Another wrote, “Today I am thankful to be an alumna of #Duke and proud of their continual efforts in supporting all expressions of faith on their campus.”

Earlier this week in an op-ed in The (Raleigh) News & Observer, Christy Lohr Sapp, the university’s associate dean for religious life, defended the chapel use.

She said Duke’s Muslim community is a peaceful and prayerful one, the opposite of how Islam is seen on the nightly news.

“This opportunity represents a larger commitment to religious pluralism that is at the heart of Duke’s mission and connects the university to national trends in religious accommodation,” she stated.

Religious diversity

Duke University was created in 1924, an expansion of what was then Trinity College. Duke’s primary religious affiliation is with the United Methodist Church, but the school officially is non-denominational.

The 210-foot-tall Duke Chapel, built in the mid-1930s, is available for all campus religious life groups to hold their prayers and worship services.

Duke hired its first Muslim chaplain in 2009, the same year it created the Center for Muslim Lifeat the university. On its Facebook page, the Muslim student association said it is committed to fostering campus and community-wide engagement with Islam and related issues.

“The collective Muslim community is truly grateful and excited about Duke’s intentionality toward religious and cultural diversity,” Imam Adeel Zeb, Muslim chaplain at Duke, said in a statement before the reversal.

Obama going to fight Islamophobia

On Thursday, White House press secretary Josh Earnest announced that the Obama administration would prioritize fighting Islamophobia in the aftermath of the terrorist attack onCharlie Hebdo in France. Never mind that most Westerners aren’t Islamophobic, but rather GettingShotInTheFaceForExpressingMyOpinion-Phobic.

The real problem, according to the Obama administration, is lack of leadership in defending Islam:

There are some individuals that are using a peaceful religion and grossly distorting it, and trying to use its tenets to inspire people around the globe to carry out acts of violence. And we have enjoyed significant success in enlisting leaders in the Muslim community, like I said, both in the United States and around the world to condemn that kind of messaging, to condemn those efforts to radicalize individuals, and to be clear about what the tenets of Islam actually are.  And we’re going to redouble those efforts in the days and weeks ahead.

This, of course, is not the first time the Obama administration has discovered a duty to illuminate the inherent beauty and wonder of Islam. Over and over again, the Obama administration, in high culturally imperialist dudgeon, has attempted to explain to the world the true meaning of Islam.

Here are five other examples:

President Obama, 2009: Immediately upon taking office, Obama did an interview withAl-Arabiya in which he explained that his job as president encompassed apologizing to the Muslim world for evil America, and explaining to Americans that Muslims are the cream of the religious crop:

My job is to communicate to the American people that the Muslim world is filled with extraordinary people who simply want to live their lives and see their children live better lives. My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy.

If you forgot the provision of Article II of the Constitution that gives the president the authority to do outreach on behalf of Islam in the United States, that’s because it doesn’t exist. But don’t worry: Obama’s on the job.

President Obama, 2009: In speaking about Islam at Cairo University on June 4, 2009 – a speech to which the Obama administration invited the then-banned Muslim Brotherhood – Obama stated:

So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed.  That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t.  And I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.

If you forgot the provision of Article II of the Constitution that places responsibility for fighting negative stereotypes of Islam in the hands of the executive branch, that’s because it doesn’t exist. But don’t worry: Obama’s on the job.

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, 2010: Speaking with Al-Jazeera, the head of NASA explained that the mission of the space agency would now include outreach to Muslims:

When I became the NASA Administrator, [President Obama] charged me with three things. One, he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math; he wanted me to expand our international relationships; and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math and engineering.

If you forgot the provision of the National Aeronautics and Space Act that grants authority to NASA to make Muslims feel good about medieval contributions to astronomy, that’s because it doesn’t exist. But don’t worry: Obama’s on the job.

President Obama, 2012: In the aftermath of the murder of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, President Obama took to the podium of the United Nations to condemn a YouTube filmmaker in the United States exercising freedom of speech:

[A] crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world.  Now, I have made it clear that the United States government had nothing to do with this video, and I believe its message must be rejected by all who respect our common humanity.
It is an insult not only to Muslims, but to America as well — for as the city outside these walls makes clear, we are a country that has welcomed people of every race and every faith.  We are home to Muslims who worship across our country.  We not only respect the freedom of religion, we have laws that protect individuals from being harmed because of how they look or what they believe.  We understand why people take offense to this video because millions of our citizens are among them….The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.

If you forgot the provision of the First Amendment to the Constitution that gives the president of the United States the authority to officially criticize exercise of First Amendment rights under color of authority, that’s because it doesn’t exist. But don’t worry: Obama’s on the job.

Secretary of State John Kerry, 2014: Last year, as ISIS released video after video of the beheadings of Westerners, Secretary of State Kerry explained that his mission was to promote true Islam – which makes perfect sense, given his status as imam of Martha’s Vineyard:

[Our effort] has to start major efforts to delegitimize ISIS’s claim to some religious foundation for what it’s doing and begin to put real Islam out there and draw lines throughout the region.

If you forgot the provision of Article II that lends authority to the State Department to “begin to put real Islam out there,” presumably in violation of the separation of church and state, that’s because it doesn’t exist. But don’t worry: Obama’s on the job.

Even as the Obama administration pretends to push “true Islam,” the Obama administration completely ignored the words of Egyptian leader General Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, who just days ago called for a “religious revolution” in the Muslim world. Al-Sisi explained:

I say and repeat, again, that we are in need of a religious revolution. You imams are responsible before Allah. The entire world is waiting on you. The entire world is waiting for your word … because the Islamic world is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost. And it is being lost by our own hands….It’s inconceivable that the thinking that we hold most sacred should cause the entire Islamic world to be a source of anxiety, danger, killing and destruction for the rest of the world. Impossible that this thinking — and I am not saying the religion — I am saying this thinking. This is antagonizing the entire world. It’s antagonizing the entire world! Does this mean that 1.6 billion people (Muslims) should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants — that is 7 billion — so that they themselves may live? Impossible!

Al-Sisi seems significantly more qualified to lead an educational effort about Islam than Barack Obama. But for the Obama administration to recognize the truth of al-Sisi’s statement would suggest that their own ignorance about Islam has prevented them from effecting change for the past six years. And that is an admission that President Obama and his lackeys refuse to make, given their deeply held belief that Islam isn’t the problem in any way.

PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS REACHES HISTORIC LEVELS

Open Doors released its annual World Watch List, which ranks the top 50 countries where it is most dangerous and difficult to be a Christian. This year, the threshold was higher for a country to make the list, indicating that worldwide levels of persecution have increased....Approximately 100 million Christians are persecuted worldwide, making them one of the most persecuted religious groups in the world. 

Islamic extremism is the main source of persecution in 40 of the 50 countries on the 2015 World Watch List.  While persecution can take many forms, Christians throughout the world risk imprisonment, torture, rape and even death as result of their faith.
